Most Recent Rajini asks fan to withdraw nomination from Pudukkottai bye-election

Superstar Rajinikanth has asked Sridhar, a functionary of the Pudukkottai District Rajinikanth Fans’ Association, to withdraw his candidature for the bye-elections to be held to the Pudukkottai Assembly constituency. Sridhar has reportedly filed an unilateral candidature and has neither informed Rajini in advance nor sought his prior permission to contest the elections on behalf of the Fans’ Association.

Rajini probably holds the world record when it comes to the number of active fan clubs operating in his name all over the State, in other parts of the country and even in some foreign countries. However, Rajini hasn’t given into the temptation to enter politics and test his strength, something his contemporaries Vijayakanth and Sarath Kumar had tried their hands at.

An upset Rajini has reportedly issued a ‘diktat’ asking Sridhar to withdraw from the fray immediately. He has also not taken kindly to the fact that Sridhar has been using the Fans’ Association’s flag and the members in his election campaign and at the time of filing his nomination recently. The ruling AIADMK is all set to sweep the seat with DMK choosing to boycott the elections.

Sudhakar, a functionary of the fans’ association, said that “Thalaivar has never opposed our political affiliations in the past; members of the association are free to contest in the elections or campaign for any party. However, none of them should use Rajini’s name or the flag of the Association. This has always been impressed by Rajini who have always wanted his fans to take care of their families first before indulging in other activities.”

Whether or not Sridhar would oblige and withdraw his candidature would be known in the coming days!
