Director Kamalakannan spent two and a half months preparing for this one.His upcoming movie Madhubaanakadai has N.D.Rajkumar, Karthi Vel, Dhyana in lead roles marking Kamalakannan’s debut in Kollywood. The movie has received an ‘A’ certification, appreciated by trade bodies.
Presented by Montage Media Production, Madhubaanakadai is an all drunkard affair. It traces the fall of events occurring at a TASMAC shop in Erode, in a single day. “Regulars at liquor shops will connect with the movie,” says director Kamalakannan. For capturing the real essence of things, the director went around many liquor shops, and met drunkards with different personalities before finalizing on the cast and crew. Roaming around two and a half months trying to figure out the inebriated state of boozers, Kamalakannan confesses of staying away from any form of liquid intoxication himself. Music for the flick is by Ved Shankar Sugavanam .The director states, the film is not about a particular character or situation but the events happening in a bar. “There is no story in the film and if you still find any, it’s purely your imagination”, will be the message that gets the film rolling on silver screens, releasing this July.
