Hansika (she doesn’t prefer to be addressed as Hansika Motwani and has officially decided to ‘drop’ her surname from her name) is on ‘Cloud Nine’ these days. The bubbly actress, who has recently become the ‘dream girl’ of many Tamil youths and movie-goers, is happy that her latest film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi has been going strong. She feels nice to be part of a hit venture, which wasn’t the case with her first two films.
Some time back, it was reported in these columns that she has been chosen to play Simbu’s heroine in his upcoming film Vettai Mannan which also has another bubbly heroine in Deeksha Seth to give her fitting ‘competition’. Hansika, unlike Deeksha, has managed to build up a reputation that she can act besides appearing like a glam-doll in films and performing the routing song-and-dance numbers.
She has also been chosen as Simbu’s heroine in another film titled Vaalu which is to be produced by S.S. Chakravarthy of Nic Arts. The film would be directed by debutant director Vijay, who had earlier assisted the direcor in films like Sindhanai Sei. Vijay and Simbu thought for days together as to whom to sign up as the heroine and finally zeroed in on Hansika.
It’s not often that an upcoming actress gets to pair up opposite a leading hero in two films simultaneously. It is said that Simbu is likely to start the shoot of Vaalu soon after he wraps up the entire shooting schedule Vettai Mannan. Simbu has said that Vaalu would be a ful-filled film with a heavy dose of romance. “At this moment, I can’t reveal much about the script of the film,” says Simbu.
